LightBurn supports SVG, DXF, AI, PDF, PNG, JPG, BMP, and GIF. SVG and DXF are the most recommended formats for precision cutting. All SVG and DXF files on FreeLaserFile are 100% LightBurn compatible.

Which laser machines work with LightBurn?

LightBurn works with virtually all GRBL and DSP/Ruida laser machines including xTool (D1, M1, P2, S1), Ortur Laser Master, Sculpfun (S9, S10, S30), OMTech, Atomstack, LONGER, K40 with upgrades, and Ruida-based CO2 lasers.

How do I import SVG files into LightBurn?

In LightBurn, go to File > Import (or drag and drop the SVG/DXF file onto the canvas). The design appears on the workspace ready for cutting or engraving. Set layers for cut vs. engrave using the color palette at the bottom.

Does LightBurn work with Glowforge?

LightBurn does not officially support Glowforge. For Glowforge, use the Glowforge app (app.glowforge.com) with SVG files. All SVG files on FreeLaserFile work with both LightBurn and the Glowforge app.
