Acrylic Laser Cutting FAQ
What file format is best for laser cutting acrylic?
SVG and DXF are ideal. SVG works with Glowforge and xTool Creative Space. DXF is preferred for LightBurn and RDWorks. Both preserve clean vector lines for acrylic.
What thickness of acrylic can a laser cut?
40W CO2 (Glowforge Basic): up to 6mm. 60W CO2: up to 10mm. Diode lasers work on colored/opaque acrylic up to 3-5mm but cannot cut clear acrylic.
Cast vs extruded acrylic?
Cast acrylic gives flame-polished, crystal-clear edges. Extruded is cheaper but produces frosted edges and can melt. Always use cast for jewelry, signs, and LED displays.
Can I sell acrylic products made from these files?
Yes — all files are free for commercial use. Popular sellers make earrings, keychains, cake toppers, and LED night lights with these designs.
