I have a 40W CO2 laser and it takes 3 passes at full power. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to upgrade?

Budget is around $800. I mostly do wood engraving and some acrylic cutting. The S1 seems amazing but the K40 has a huge community. Thoughts?

Cutting 600x400mm pieces from 6mm ply and the corners always lift. I've tried tape but it's not enough. Any tips?

I know most people use Inkscape or Illustrator. Are there any CNC-specific design tools that work well on macOS?

I bought both machines and ran them side by side for 6 months. Short answer: xTool wins on software, Sculpfun wins on price/power ratio. Long answer: The xTool creative space is way better than LaserGRBL for beginners. The Sculpfun S30 Pro has 20W diode vs xTool D1 Pro 10W, so cuts faster. If you're serious and budget isn't an issue, get the xTool P2. It's in another league.
